Stoke’s trip to West Ham is a massive game for the club in their fight to retain top-flight status.

The Potters are second from bottom in the league standings with 27 points, six points adrift of safety with five games remaining.

West Ham are on 34 points and a win at the London Stadium will put them within touching distance of the 40-point figure normally associated with survival.

WEST HAM 0-0 STOKE

HT: The breakthrough still alludes us at the London Stadium. West Ham have been pretty dominant throughout with tiny glimpses of attacking intent from Stoke.

It’s actually hard to believe that this is a must-win game for Paul Lambert’s side, who desperately need maximum points to avoid relegation.

30: No shift in the pattern of play as West Ham continue to do everything but score.

Marko Arnautovic has been immense, and I don’t use that word lightly, and could have bagged himself a hat-trick if it wasn’t for Jack Butland.

The England hopeful has made the most saves of any Premier League goalkeeper this season and just utilised his face to stop a shot.

15: Quarter-hour gone and it’s West Ham in the ascendency. Marko Arnautovic, who is being booed relentlessly by the Stoke fans, shaved the post with a near-post effort.

Aaron Cresswell then goes close with a wicked free-kick that was sneaking in at the near post until Jack Butland tipped it wide.

Stoke showing very little in attack aside from a Moritz Bauer snapshot.

20:00: We’re underway at the London Stadium!

19:00: And here are your line-ups folks.

West Ham XI: Hart, Ogbonna, Rice, Cresswell, Zabaleta, Kouyate, Noble, Masuaku, Fernandes, Mario, Arnautovic.

Subs: Adrian, Evra, Cullen, Lanzini, Chicharito, Carroll, Hugill.

Stoke: Butland, Martins Indi, Zouma, Shawcross, Bauer, Ndiaye, Allen, Ramadan, Pieters, Shaqiri, Diouf.

EVENING

18:55: The Premier League football just keeps coming as West Ham welcome Stoke to the London Stadium.

The top of the table is now done and dusted after Manchester United handed arch-rivals Manchester City the title on a silver platter.

Very generous of Jose Mourinho’s side…

And, as so often occurs, the real excitement can be found at the bottom of the table in the fight to avoid relegation.

The Potters are second from bottom in the league standings with 27 points, six points adrift of safety with five games remaining.

West Ham are on 34 points but a win tonight will put them within touching distance of the 40-point mark.

Let’s have some team news and line-ups, shall we?

WEST HAM vs STOKE

Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and James Collins could be added to the West Ham squad. Carroll has been sidelined with an ankle fracture since December, Lanzini suffered a knee injury on international duty with Argentina and Collins has been out for a month with a hamstring problem.

Stoke forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting remains a doubt. The 29-year-old has not featured since March 17 because of a groin problem, and manager Paul Lambert admits he is still struggling. Fellow midfielder Charlie Adam serves the final match of his three-game suspension.
