According to the infamous prophet, 2019 is set to be a miserable year for most people across the planet.
As well as the advent of an apocalyptic world war, 2019 will not be a year of financial prosperity either.
Nostradamus was a French physician and seer who wrote his book Les Propheties, published in 1555, which is a collection of 942 poetic quatrains allegedly predicting future events.
Some of his predictions are said to include the Great Fire of London in 1666, the French Revolution in 1789, the rise of Napoleon, the rise of Hitler, JFK’s assassination and even September 11.
His predictions for 2019 range from advances in science, a devastating war and natural disasters.
According to the Medieval sage, World War 3 will be fought between two superpowers and the conflict will last for 27 years.
Also there will be floods across many European countries, an increase in terrorism across Europe and the US and increased religious extremism in the Middle East.
Political leaders will reach agreements to solutions for climate change, but that won’t be able to stop a giant earthquake will hit between California and Vancouver Island in Canada.
Other predictions are a little bit strange, such as humans developing the ability to talk to animals.
But it isn’t all bad news as medicine will advance in a dramatic way so people will be able to live as long as 200 years, according to Nostradamus.
The Medieval physician has impressed many around the world with his eerie predictions.
But he has also on occasion been spectacularly wrong, such as predicting the end of the world in 1999.
Also his so-called prediction, which many attribute to 9/11, may be a little bit stretched.
He wrote: “Volcanic fire from the center of the earth will cause trembling around the new city: Two great rocks will make war for a long time. Then Arethusa will redden a new river.”
Arethusa is sometimes seen as an anagram of “the USA” but it is actually the nymph associated with rivers and springs.
Also 9/11 didn’t involve volcanic fire, or lava.
