  1. The 2006 bill they talk about was passed with almost unanimous support due to the post office showing a profit that year of around 6 billion dollars.
Also about this time email and social media web sites were starting to become more popular. Over the next few years text messaging and other forms of instant messaging came along. During this same time period online bill pay was growing more popular also. All this cut into the first class mail and those profits.
Since the congress has ignored this growing problem they are the most to blame.

  6. Yes, the Democrats co-sponsored the bill that financially handicapped the very entity they claim to want to save. Repeal the 2006 PAEA provision. Congress controlled by the Democratic party between 2008-2010 could have done this easily but they never did. It's fake outrage. CNN and other outlets could have reported and repeated it many years ago but continued to spread the same "Post Office is Broke" propaganda but now since it seems anti-Trump, the factual narrative can be supported. They wonder why people don't trust them.

  7. What they were never unprofitable till republicans made them prepay pensions for workers not even born yet. What a ridiculous rule that needs to end. Socialism does exist only for the rich not for the rest of us stop fooling yourselves
