Springer is still in top form, and he wanted to play in Boston, as that was his team growing up in CT. Plus, being an outfielder, he could of helped close the gap from when Mookie left. There is no way he doesn't make any team, much less the Red Sox, better. Springer signing with Toronto suggests to me that the Red Sox are either grossly incompetent, or they do not care about winning. Either way, maybe my streaming service removing NESN is not such a bad thing after all.
