Joshua is set to face New Zealander Joseph Parker on March 31 as he aims to unify the heavyweight boxing division.
Joshua currently holds the IBF, WBA and IBO belts while Parker owns the WBO band. Deontay Wilder owns the other heavyweight-boxing belt being the WBC holder.
But the 28-year-old Joshua admitted he’s open to changing formats.
Asked if he’d be interested in fighting in MMA, Anthony Joshua recently said: “Yeah. I’d have to obviously have a couple of warm-up fights because you have to learn the submissions and stuff.
“But a fight’s a fight at the end of the day. Yeah man, I’d do it.”
And now he’s received an offer.
Ngannou has fought 13 times in UFC, winning 11. His last fight ended in defeat to Stipe Miocic in a clash for the UFC heavyweight championship.
But that hasn’t dented the 31-year-old’s confidence.
“I heard Anthony Joshua say he’s gonna fight in MMA and if he wants to face me and I was like, ‘Hey, you’re welcome, man,’” Ngannou told MMA Fighting.
“We gonna do it both sides, in the Octagon and inside the ring.
“It’s up to what (the UFC) want to give me. “There are a lot of people out there who want to fight me.
“I saw Mark Hunt, he would be a great one. But myself, I want Brock. Brock Lesnar.”
It wouldn’t be the first time UFC met boxing.
Conor McGregor stepped into the ring last year as he fought Floyd Mayweather.
The boxer ultimately won, stopping the Irishman in the tenth round.
