15:20 UPDATE: Rangers exit?

Alfredo Morelos will have scared off “one or two clubs” with his latest show of indiscipline – but he also will have brought the potential transfer fee the club recoup for him down, Ally McCoist claims.

“Clearly he has let himself down and the team down too with his disciplinary record,” said McCoist. “Getting sent off five times in one season just isn’t good enough.

“This could be the player of the year we’re talking about, though, so it’s a dilemma.

“The number of goals he has scored this year has been great and some of his performances have been fantastic – but he clearly has a discipline problem. Steven knows that.

“Watching his interview after the Celtic game, I could sympathise with him because I knew where he was.

“He has defended Morelos at times but felt he had overstepped the mark that day and I could not agree with him more.

“It’s now time for Alfredo Morelos to take responsibility for his own actions. If he hasn’t learned from his mistakes – particularly the one in the Old Firm game – then there is probably no chance for him.

“I’m very hopeful he has learned from it, but the fact of the matter is that there will be one or two clubs who will have been put off by his disciplinary record and his value will have dropped a little bit.”

14:50 UPDATE: Inter ready for Man Utd deal

Inter Milan are ready to receive offers from suitors Manchester United and Manchester City for their star man Milan Skriniar.

Skriniar has been linked with both Manchester clubs for a while and Calciomercato claim a deal for the Croatian to had to the Premier League may well be on.

Inter are ready to sell Skriniar for £91m (€100m) in order to invest elsewhere in the squad.

Diego Godin is already joining the club on a free transfer in the summer.

14:15 UPDATE: Chelsea deal rests on FFP

Chelsea selling Tiemoue Bakayoko to Milan rests on UEFA’s investigation into the Italian club’s Financial Fair Play stance.

UEFA have confirmed they will open a fresh case on Milan looking into FFP irregularities from the 2017/18 season.

Bakayoko – currently on loan at the San Siro – can join Milan from Chelsea on a permanent deal worth around £30m at the end of the season.

But FFP may scupper that deal, admits sporting strategy and development director Paolo Maldini.

“We are super happy with him, we will try to redeem him. It will depend on the FFP and the final championship position.”

13:10 UPDATE: Real Madrid ‘waiting’ for Mane

Real Madrid are supposedly ‘waiting’ for Sadio Mane to reveal his interested in joining them, before they make a move for the Liverpool star.

Mane has been linked with a switch to Real and El Confidencial reckon the player himself will have to instigate the process.

Real want Chelsea’s Eden Hazard for £100m and Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

12:30 UPDATE: Liverpool contract rejected

Liverpool’s offer of a five-year contract to youngster Rafael Camacho has been rejected.

As reported earlier this week, Camacho appears ready to leave Anfield having already snubbed terms.

The Portuguese youngster was not given the chance to head out on loan in January and his contract expires at the end of next season.

He can therefore negotiate pre-contract terms over a free transfer for a foreign club in January 2020.

11:25 UPDATE: Van Gaal advice

Louis van Gaal has urged Ajax sensation Matthijs de Ligt to join either Manchester City or Barcelona.

“De Ligt at Juventus? I think De Ligt can play in any competition,” the former United manager told Ziggo Sport.

“In Italy they are the masters of defence, so he can best develop there.

“If I had the chance I would go to Barcelona. They have central defenders who are not too good, so he will play there.

“Or I would go to Manchester City. I don’t think the central defenders are that great either, so he’ll play there too.”

10:47 UPDATE: Totti snubbed by Roma

Roma legend Francesco Totti will not get the manager job at his old club.

Il Messaggero claim Luis Campos is set to leave Lille and take up the role in Rome.

Totti had been tipped to replace Claudio Ranieri when the stand-in manager leaves his post in the summer.

Roma President James Pallotta is seeking a new boss while also trying to build a new stadium for the club.

Tottenham are set to sign Eljif Elmas from Fenerbahce.

Turkish outlet Superhaber claim Elmas could move to Spurs for £20m, with a bid already lodged.

09:33 UPDATE: Benitez to Celtic

Celtic moving for Rafa Benitez this summer could well be on the cards, reckons Johan Mjallby.

Neil Lennon is in temporary charge of the Hoops but Mjallby is open to seeing his old side push for another top coach.

“Why not?” said Mjallby. “You can’t talk Celtic down.

“Obviously, Rangers have had difficult years but they are massive clubs and either one of them should win the league every year.

“But even if you have been the manager of big clubs in other major leagues, the pressure you have as a Celtic manager is enormous.

“Martinez has never won a league title, for example.

“Villas-Boas and Benitez have done, but you have the chance to win trophies every year at Parkhead.

“The ambition should also be to make Celtic great in Europe again.”

09:00 UPDATE: Hazard wants exit

Thorgan Hazard’s wish to leave the Bundesliga has been confirmed, with Liverpool interested in the playmaker.

Hazard – the younger brother of Chelsea star Eden Hazard – is ready to leave Borussia Monchengladbach.

It was claimed earlier this week that the Belgian was keen on remaining in Germany.

But Gladbach sporting director Max Erbel says this is not the case.

“Thorgan has informed us that he doesn’t want to extend his contract and that he wants to leave the club in the summer to take the next step.

“I’ve heard this statement 15 times in the last 10 years as really great players have left us. That’s the way it is for us.

“We’ll have to see where his path will continue. I don’t know whether it will be at BVB (Borussia Dortmund), who are constantly being mentioned, or at Atletico Madrid, Liverpool or another club.”

08:40 UPDATE: Agent double representation

Premier League clubs are increasingly using agents for double representation in transfers.

Leicestershire Live report that four in five Premier League transfers this season have involved the same agent representing the club AND the player.

There was a staggering 462 ‘double representation’ incidents this season.

Brighton saw 98 per cent of their deals done through double representation, with Watford the lowest at 45 per cent.

And while double representation isn’t illegal and does not break any rules, HMRC are looking into how clubs, players and agent work with each other.

08:05 UPDATE: Pogba to Real Madrid

has dodged questions from Spanish media over a potential move to Real Madrid following Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Barcelona last night.

United were downed in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash thanks to a Luke Shaw own goal.

Pogba is wanted at Real Madrid, with Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane ready for a deal.

A reporter from El Chiringuito TV asked Pogba: “Would you like to play in the Classico against Barca?”

He replied: “Yes, when we play in the Champions League it’s always nice to play against Barca, it’s a dream for anyone.

The reporter pushed the French World Cup winner more directly on a move to Real.

Pogba said: “I won’t answer that. I will only speak about the game, nothing else.”

07:47 UPDATE: Bruno Fernandes to Man Utd

are reportedly interested in signing Bruno Fernandes this summer.

Sporting Lisbon’s star man has caught the eye of a number of European clubs, A Bola report.

It is claimed United have already made ‘informal contacts’ over a deal for the 24-year-old.

But Milan are also in the running for Fernandes, who has a £90m release clause that United will likely not have to match to bring Sporting to the negotiating table.

07:22 UPDATE: Arsenal target rejects deal

Arsenal still have hope of signing PSG youngster Christopher Nkunku after the 21-year-old rejected a new contract.

PSG want to lock midfielder Nkunku down to a new contract to stop one of their European rivals snapping him up.

Nkunku has made 22 appearances for the French champions this season, scoring four goals.

But he wants more regular first-team opportunities and could be available for £30m in the summer, Le Parisien claim.

And Arsenal may well swoop, with the player’s current deal expiring at the end of next season.

07:14 UPDATE: Rangers issue

Rangers can re-sign Ryan Kent from Liverpool for the 2019/20 season – but only on loan.

Ally McCoist reckons the £12m asking price set by Liverpool is too high for a permanent deal.

“Kent has been fabulous this season,” the Scot said.

“Since coming back from his injury lay-off he’s been terrific and for me he was the best player on the park against Celtic.

“I’d imagine if there’s any way Steven (Gerrard) could keep him, he’d be desperate to do so.

“However, it looks like another loan deal is the only way it could happen. His performances might just have priced Rangers out the market for him.

“I might be wrong but I think Rangers’ best chance of keeping him would be a loan deal for next season.”

06:55 UPDATE: Barcelona eye Saul

Barcelona are in the market for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, the Mirror claim.

Manchester City are also eyeing the Spaniard as manager Pep Guardiola works on his deals for next season.

But Manchester United are ALSO eyeing the 24-year-old – in part because Ander Herrera is set to leave for PSG at the end of the season.

Saul has been linked with mega-money moves to the Premier League in the past but the lure of Barca may keep him in La Liga.

06:24 UPDATE: Chelsea sale

cannot sign players in the next two transfer windows but can sell unwanted squad members.

And Danny Drinkwater has been told he can leave the club once the the summer window opens.

Drink water has endured a miserable stint at Chelsea since arriving from Leicester in August 2017.

He has played just one game all season – in the Charity Shield against Manchester City – and cost Chelsea £35m.

06:00 UPDATE: Liverpool move on

Liverpool assistant first-team coach Pep Lijnders has reportedly told Portuguese outlet O Jogo that the Reds are keen on signing Wolves’ Ruben Neves.

“I know him very well, his ambition, his passion for the game, his professionalism… I know what he gives to the team and this type of players always interest us,” he said.

“I recognised him when I saw him at Wolves. I saw technique, professionalism; I saw the 2013/14 player I knew.”

Wolves are set to receive plenty of offers in the summer transfer window but want to keep Neves.
