Sh-sh-shave it off!
On the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday, Taylor Swift weighed in on a delightfully mundane Twitter controversy about whether or not people should wash their legs in the shower. What she revealed left fans shocked.
“Did you say you wash them or not?” DeGeneres asks Swift, who was on the show promoting her new single, “Me” and upcoming unnamed album.
“I do, ’cause when you shave your legs … the shaving cream is like soap, right?” Swift replies. “I kind of always shave my legs.”
When DeGeneres clarifies, “Every day?” and she says yes.
“God, you must be hairy,” DeGeneres jokes.
The question from DeGeneres was inspired by a viral Twitter poll asking, “Do you wash your legs when you take a shower?”
At press time, 843,140 people had weighed in: 20 percent don’t wash their legs. Indeed, some said they prefer a trickle-down effect, where soap runs down the body in the shower, making it unnecessary to pay attention to the legs directly.
A slew of Swifties on Twitter had mixed feelings about the pop star’s hair-removal habits.
“I’m offended that Taylor Swift shaves her legs everyday,” writes one.
“Girl, what?! Who does that??? That sounds exhausting,” says another.
“The biggest difference between me and Taylor Swift is not that she’s a super talented star,” a super fan says. “It’s that she shaves her legs every day, and I shave my legs like… four times a year.”
