Princess Charlotte just became Alessandro Michele’s latest style icon.
The 4-year-old royal is the inspiration for Gucci’s latest menswear collection that debuted during Milan Fashion Week Men’s.
Models hit the runway wearing floral prints, babydoll dresses, Gucci-printed tights and Mary Janes — the princess’s signature look.
Princess Charlotte was seen wearing an outfit very similar to the new line at her latest appearance on Christmas Day.
While it hasn’t been confirmed by Michele himself that the line was inspired by the princess, he has explained how the collection had been inspired by his own way of dressing as a child and his appreciation toward child’s clothes.
“The world of childhood is something that is surprising, poetic, captivating,” he told he told British Vogue. “And all the small things that children do. This is something that connects all of us. We were all afraid of losing our childhood.”
The overall inspiration behind the collection appears to express childhood “as “a time when you are free, there are fewer labels … when you can be yourself.”
The show also marked Michele’s five-year anniversary with Gucci.
