But every once in a while, it’s worth it. Such as when the person in charge of liv-streaming the provincial government of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accidentally switches on the cat filter – giving all the serious politicians cute ears and whiskers.
Unfortunately, one spoilsport let the cat out of the bag, replying “Filter hata lo. Banda billi bana hua hai (Remove the filter, the man has been turned into a cat),”
Shortly after that, the government lifestream returned to boring mode. But not before dozens of Twitter users had screencapped the glorious moment and has some serious fun with it.
Later, the party issued a clarification on Twitter regarding the press briefing held by KP’s Information Minister Shoukat Yousafzai, calling it “a human error”. In a statement, PTI Said, “Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s social media team is deemed to be the pioneers of Social Media in Pakistan.…”
“Yesterday, while covering a press briefing held by KP’s Information Minister Shoukat Yousf Zai, a ‘cat filter’ was witness which was remove with in a fe minutes…”
“All necessary actions have been taken to avoid such incidents in the future.”
Which is quite sad news.
The cat filter might definitely encourage more people to watch the livestream, improving engagement in local politics.
As one Twitter user put it: “hilarious this is how social media should be done”
