Neymar gave PSG a major scare last night after being stretchered off during the Ligue 1 giants’ 3-0 win over Marseille at the Parc des Princes.
The Brazilian is now a doubt to face Real Madrid in the Champions League, with Los Blancos 3-1 up from the first leg courtesy of two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Neymar cost PSG a huge £200million to sign from Barcelona in the summer but has repaid his price tag by plundering 28 goals from 30 appearances across all competitions.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon say the 26-year-old has confided in Messi about whether or not he will face Real.
It is good news for PSG fans.
Their talisman has supposedly told Messi he is willing to play through the pain against Real.
Neymar is determined to show his class after being outshone by Ronaldo in the first leg.
Madrid ran out 3-1 winners and Neymar, for all his hard work, was unable to get on the scoresheet.
Don Balon say Neymar is hellbent on playing against Madrid as he wants to put them to the sword and keep his dreams of winning the Champions League for a second time alive.
Meanwhile, PSG manager Unai Emery provided an update on his Samba star after PSG’s Marseille thumping.
“The first tests we have done show it is a sprain, we will do more medical examinations to be totally sure,” he said in his post-match press conference.
“Neymar is going to do some new tests. We’re going to stay optimistic.
“If today I had to say yes or no to be fit against Real [Madrid], I would say yes. I want to be optimistic.”
PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola admitted Neymar’s ankle looked bad.
“Of course, I’m worried about Neymar,” Areola said. “His ankle was pretty swollen.
“He is an important player for us and I hope he will come back soon.
“I do not know much more, there were a lot of people around him.”
