The pundit was set to analyse the Red Devil’s 1-0 defeat at St James’ Park where Matt Ritchie scored the winning goal.
But as the show was just beginning fellow pundit Alan Shearer could not contain his excitement about the win for his boyhood club.
“I thoroughly enjoyed that today,” Shearer told Match of the Day.
“It is not very often that I disagree with Rafa [Benitez] but I didn’t think they were lucky at all.
“I thought it was well deserved.
“Everyone gave absolutely everything for the black and white shirt and it looked a fantastic atmosphere there.”
And then presenter Mark Chapman turned to Neville and said: “Put your feet up because he is not going to shut up.
To which Neville replied: “Can I leave?”
The hilarious gesture then had all three burst into laughter before the highlights began.
But the underlying tone of Neville’s comment would ring true with how all Man Utd fans would be feeling after they fell to 16 points behind Manchester City with the defeat.
Meanwhile, Newcastle rose to 13th but only five points now separate 10th-placed Bournemouth and the relegation zone.
