Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has celebrated winning the Premier League golden boot award for the second season in succession by sharing a picture of his two awards together.

Salah was the joint-highest scorer in the top flight this season – he finished with 22 goals, tied with his Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Last season Salah won the award outright following a sensational first campaign in the Premier League during which he scored 32 goals.

While Liverpool missed out on winning the Premier League title this campaign, with Manchester City finishing one point ahead of them, there was still some personal glory for Salah.

The Egypt international may not have been quite as prolific as last season, but he still enjoyed some excellent moments.

He finished the season strongly as he scored five goals in his last six league games.

1) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal), Sadio Mane (Liverpool) – 22 goals

2) Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) – 21 goals

3) Jamie Vardy (Leicester) – 18 goals

4) Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Tottenham) – 17 goals

5) Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – 16 goals

In addition to his goalscoring exploits, Salah was also a frequent source of creativity for Liverpool as he provided eleven assists.

Salah received some criticism for his performances earlier in the season, but when the campaign as a whole is assessed he can certainly be seen to have made a significant contribution for Liverpool.

There is still a chance for Salah and Liverpool to end the season with a trophy as they take on Tottenham in the Champions League final on June 1.

Salah has mustered four goals in 11 appearances in the Champions League this season.
