That’s the verdict of the Serie A giants’ former manager Ezio Sella, who says a match-up between the two sides would be “curious”.
Liverpool progressed into the Champions League quarter-finals last week thanks to a 5-0 aggregate win over Porto.
And was largely down to a dominant away performance over Porto in which Klopp’s side deployed his tactics to good effect.
Klopp’s gegenpressing system has come in for some criticism this season though when it’s not paid off and teams have exploited it.
Sella has now added to that flak by suggesting Roma would take advantage of the Liverpool boss having a lax tactical approach.
“I would be curious to face Liverpool because they are a strong team, but from a tactical point of view they give a lot [away],” he told French outlet RMC Sport.
“I think Roma would have the chance to go through and Klopp does not give much attention to the tactics of the game.
“A Roma like that of tonight [vs Shakhtar Donetsk] in my opinion can do very well.”
Liverpool will discover their Champions League quarter-finals opponents when the draw takes place in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.
Next up for Liverpool is Saturday’s Premier League showdown with Javi Gracia’s Watford.
