Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp discusses ‘surprising’ issue – ‘It is not an obvious problem’ | Football | Sport

Jurgen Klopp is not worried about Liverpool’s terrible away form against the top six.

The Reds have won just one of their last 12 games away in the Premier League to their biggest title rivals.

Klopp told Sky Sports: “This is not good news obviously, but performance-wise, that’s why it’s so surprising.

“It is not an obvious problem.

“We were often close to winning these games.

“It was pretty rare that it was a performance that deserved to lose an away game.

“So let’s just keep going and we will see what happens.”

Klopp also gave his thoughts on Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, and picked out three stars that have excited him so far this season.

The German said: “It’s a really exciting team, it reminds me a little bit of my team at Dortmund years back when they were really young.

“They brought in Christian Pulisic in the summer, I’m not sure about the money but for around £50-£60m.

“All of the players around him now have the same value.

“Tammy Abraham is now a £60m player, Mason Mount is for sure a £60m player, if not more, Callum Hudson-Odoi was that already.”

As well as Chelsea’s new youth core, Klopp has praised the talent of the more experienced members of their squad.

He added: ”Jorginho is not that young, but he is not that long in the league, and then [N’Golo] Kante, who looks like he could play for the next 20 years.

“They have Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley, and then all the experienced guys around them, Pedro, Willian, Olivier Giroud and on the bench Michy Batshuayi.

“If there was one club in the world who a transfer ban didn’t hit that bad, it was probably Chelsea.”
