Having dropped a few hints this week on what could be coming next, the development team just confirmed one big new item.
The Fortnite Shopping Cart will be rolling into battle soon on PS4, Xbox, PC and Mobile.
This was confirmed via a new teaser added to the game on all platforms.
The little advert pops up before heading into a Battle Royale game, showcasing what is coming next.
And today’s message includes the big news that Epic Games are adding a new Shopping Cart to the island.
This new item looks set to be added via the next Fortnite update, which is scheduled to go live later this week.
While Epic Games haven’t confirmed how the new item will work, it seems pretty likely that it will be used to go downhill at a fast pace.
And from the wording of the original message from Epic Games, it seems likely that two people will be able to ride the Shopping Cart, rather than a whole squad.
This also looks set to be the first vehicle-type item added to the game, unless you include the new Jetpack.
“I’m excited to see how it’s used… I can already see some of the better players rolling downhill while getting headshots from 200m away with their snipers,” one player posted online.
While another added: “People don’t want drivable vehicles. In fact, I’d say that the majority of the playerbase is against them adding cars.
“The map is small, there’s absolutely no need for it.”
When it comes to the release date of the new Shopping Carts, it seems almost certain that it will be released tomorrow, May 29.
Based on the early patch notes and Epic’s recent state of the game post, update 4.3 will re-introduce the cosmetic refunds feature.
The feature was ditched after Epic discovered a number of underlying issues following its original launch.
Epic has also fixed problems with items becoming invisible and the season 4 cinematic.
But perhaps the best new feature launching as part of the 4.3 update is the ability to track your challenges in-game.
“Starting in v4.3 there will be in-match pop ups to highlight your challenge progress,” Epic explains. “Track what you’ve completed and plan out your strategy for the remainder of the match or your next one!”
The new Fortnite update will also add an array of new bugfixes, some of which have already been confirmed as included in the next build.
Season 4 intro cinematic isn’t playing for people without Windows Media Feature Pack and is replaced with a black screen. This sometimes persists even after the cinematic making the lobby also appear as a black screen.
When dropping or swapping items they may become invisible or lost altogether once removed from inventory.
Epic Games haven’t announced when their next update will be going live, however, news on this is expected in the coming hours.
