FORTNITE SEASON 8 – WHEN IS THE RELEASE DATE FOR FORTNITE SEASON 8?
Epic Games has not confirmed when Fortnite season 8 will start, but they have revealed when Fortnite season 7 will end.
Fortnite season 7 has an end date of February 28, and typically new Battle Passes begin the same day that previous ones finish.
So Fortnite season 8 is likely to start on Thursday February 28 2019.

FORTNITE SEASON 8 – WHAT WILL THE THEME BE? COULD THERE BE A NEW MAP OR MAP CHANGES?
Alleged leaked patch notes for Fortnite season 8 said it will kick off with a major earthquake that could bring with it huge changes to the map.
Since Valentine’s Day there’s been a series of quakes hitting the Battle Royale map which have caused huge cracks across it.
But it’s rumoured this could all be leading up to a massive quake that will either destroy the map entirely or majorly impact a number of POIs.
Either with the new map, or the current map, Fortnite season 8 is expected to bring new locations for players to explore and battle it out in.
Rumoured new locations include the Sharky Shrubs POI, a new jungle location and a temple-like area teased with the recent Fallen Love Ranger artwork.
FORTNITE SEASON 8 – WHAT NEW SKINS ARE COMING? HAVE THERE BEEN ANY LEAKS?
It’s been claimed that part of the Fortnite season 8 patch notes have leaked early.
In a post online GamingIntel claimed to have received a screenshot of the Fortnite season 8 patch notes which allegedly was discovered by leakers.
And the alleged Fortnite season 8 patch notes claims the Battle Pass will bring with it six customisable skins.
Whether this turns out to be true remains to be seen, but we do know for certain one Fortnite skin that is launching during season 8.
Earlier this week the Fortnite IKONIK skin was announced, an exclusive reward for those that purchase the Samsung Galaxy S10+.
The latest flagship from the South Korean tech giant is set to launch during March, by which time Fortnite season 8 will already be in full swing.
So the Fortnite IKONIK outfit is the first skin to be officially confirmed as launching during Fortnite season 8.
Fortnite season 8 – Earthquakes have been hitting the Battle Royale map
FORTNITE SEASON 8 – WHAT ARE THE CRACKEN AND LEVIATHAN RUMOURS?
Dataminers rummaged through the recently released Fortnite update 7.40 to discover details on a major cracken event allegedly coming to Battle Royale.
Assets for the Fortnite cracken event include ‘Cracken_City’ and ’S8LeadupEvents’.
Mention of ‘Cracken_City’ will surely spark speculation again that Titled Towers could be about to get destroyed with the new Battle Pass.
The news was revealed in a post by reliable Fortnite leaker @lucas7yoshi_ who tweeted: “Oooo Season 8 Cracken”.
Fortnite season 8 – Could the cracken or leviathan appear at the start of season 8?
What the cracken event will entail remains a mystery, but there has long been rumours of a Fortnite leviathan creature coming to Battle Royale.
And recently it emerged that Epic Games had been testing having players attack on mass an iceberg which had a ridiculous amount of health.
Could this Fortnite cracken – which may emerge after the much rumoured earthquake – be a huge boss that all players have to join together to defeat?
If that was the case then it would be like nothing Fortnite has ever seen before.
Fortnite season 8 – Will these mysterious dragon eggs play a part in the start of Fortnite season 8?
FORTNITE SEASON 8 – ALL SOUNDS GREAT. ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
The other big rumours is that – instead of an earthquake – Fortnite season 8 could start with a battle between the ice king and fire king.
The fire king is believed to be the prisoner, the reward for the snowfall challenges.
Will the fire king be fighting alone, or could he be joined by some powerful allies?
Maybe the dragon eggs that have gone missing from Polar Peaks will hatch and play a part in this epic battle?
Fortnite season 8 – Could the prisoner play a part in the start of Fortnite season 8?
Or maybe, just maybe, the dragon eggs and battle between fire and ice is all subtle references to Game of Thrones.
The final season of Game of Thrones is launching when Fortnite season 8 is taking place.
Could there be a Game of Thrones tie-in with Fortnite, much-like the Avengers crossover previously?
That may seem a long shout but you never know with Fortnite, Epic does have a habit of surprising players.
