Fans of Fortnite and Bloodborne will definitely want to check out new Battle Royale game Egress.
Egress is described as a role-playing Battle Royale game with “an intense hardcore melee combat system”.
And judging by the brand new gameplay video, combat looks like it’s been plucked from the Souls series.
It also pays homage to Bloodborne’s setting, combining the “Victorian era with Lovecraft’s mythology and Retrowave”.
As VG247 points out, games sees 22 players fight to become the last person standing.
In a unique twist on the Battle Royale formula, the shrinking safe zone is replaced by rising water levels in the city.
You can check it out for yourself in the gameplay video below…
The Guardian is described as an “experienced guard with his faithful mace, which actually turned into a blast furnace to crush the skulls of his enemies with sparks and crackles”.
Then there’s the otherworldly Vampire, which is able to regenerate using the blood of its enemies.
“A creature from another world who came to this universe through a portal,” the description reads. “He has incredible ability to regenerate. Vampire uses the blood of his enemies, and he carefully keeps this blood inside his body in a special flask.”
The Hunter, meanwhile, is able to set traps for enemies and can also smell victims from a distance.
You can sign up for the Egress beta by visiting the official website.
It will have a tough time displacing the likes of Fortnite, which is currently the most popular game in the world.
And Fortnite looks set to become even more popular thanks to the release of a limited time Avengers mode.
Taking place for a limited time, the Avengers mashup features traditional Battle Royale rules, but with one unique twist.
Players will be able to wield the power of Thanos by finding the Infinity Gauntlet.
