As schools prepare to reopen their doors next week, Boris Johnson will make masks mandatory for all secondary school children in areas with high levels of coronavirus.
Face coverings will be compulsory for schools in areas that are subject to additional lockdown measures, while schools in other areas will be able to choose whether pupils wear them.
The move comes amid guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO) that children over the ages of 12 should wear face masks to tackle the spread of Covid-19.
And it would seem that there’s a clear demand for children’s masks; Marks & Spencer has had to restock its matching adult and children face masks three times since they sold-out upon launch in July.
So if your mini-me is heading back to school, here’s a round-up of the best face masks to buy them.
