For fans of the hit new sandbox game from Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2, there’s plenty to be excited about.
Not only is the game one of the biggest the famous studio has ever made but it will also boast a massive new multiplayer mode.
Red Dead Online will go live later this month, with PS4 and Xbox One gamers now waiting for the next big announcement.
Until then, the best we have for new RDR2 Online information is through data miners and leakers.
New reports suggest that Red Dead Online will expand some of the options already found in the single-player experience, while also adding multiplayer options fans of GTA Online will be comfortable with.
Rockstar Intel has provided a list of parameters that have been found under “Multiplayer” banner, meaning they should be part of RDR2 Online.
Several of these new features are directly connected to PvP situations with other players, including being able to inform the law on others.
Being able to report on your fellow players sounds like a powerful tool and something that could prove to be pretty brutal in practice.
Players may think twice about taking on their rivals if they know that this option is available, opening up the way for more interesting scenarios.
This remains speculation at this time, but being able to place a bounty on someone’s head is something that’s part of GTA Online.
But in Red Dead Redemption 2, this option would certainly be expanded, especially with how important the bounty system is in the offline experience.
Parley is another parameter found by data miners and suggests a way that two players can meet without being shot to pieces.
This could be an evolution of the passive mode Rockstar Games added to GTA Online, making it possible to trade with others in a safer environment.
Being able to “Duel” sounds like a pretty standard option for fans to use when settling their differences and could make it possible to skip having the law on your back for taking out another player.
Another hint that is much harder to decode is “Predator Ability” which is another parameter that has been found.
Will be an evolution of beat mode? Allowing players to take on the specs of an animal they took down in RDR2 Online?
Or will it be something different that makes it possible to do others things not yet announced in Red Dead Online?
Rockstar Intel has also leaked a list of mission types which will reportedly be available to Red Dead Redemption 2 players.
These will include Deathmatch, Race, Survival, Capture, Last Team Standing and Parachuting.
Parachuting sounds a little bizarre but could perhaps be something to do with jumping off high ledges.
Most of these sound pretty standard to GTA Online’s mission types and proved to be some of the earliest options in the game.
It follows news that Red Dead Redemption 2 Online could be getting a Battle Royale mode in the future.
This is sourced from information leaked before the game was released and included other claims that have now proved correct.
It came from UK site Trusted Reviews, who recently agreed to donate over £1 million to charity after publishing an article “sourced from a confidential corporate document” about Red Dead Redemption 2.
The site has since replaced the article with an apology: “On February 6, 2018, we published an article that was sourced from a confidential corporate document.”
The updated article continues: “We should have known this information was confidential and should not have published it.
“We unreservedly apologise to Take-Two Games and we have undertaken not to repeat such actions again. We have also agreed to donate over £1 million to charities chosen by Take-Two Games.”
Rockstar is yet to confirm plans to release a Battle Royale mode, but it certainly sounds plausible.
