Pokemon Go fans are counting down to the start of the July Community Day event.
The July 2018 Community Day event has a 10am start time and a 1pm end time on Sunday, July 8.
Squirtle is the star of the show this time around, so it’s good news if you don’t already have Wartortle or Blastoise.
As with all Community Day events, players can unlock a special move during the Pokemon evolution process.
If players evolve a Squirtle into a Blastoise during the course of the event, then the Pokemon will know the Hydro Cannon move.
“Get ready, Trainers!” reads a Niantic tweet. “Squirtle caught and evolved during the Community Day event on July 8 will know the #PokemonGOCommunityDay exclusive Water-type move Hydro Cannon! Don’t get soaked!”
Players can also unlock a special Squirtle by performing research tasks during the event.
In a nod to the Pokemon TV show, fans can unlock a Squirtle wearing sunglasses.
“Attention, Trainers: if you complete Field Research tasks during Community Day, you may have a chance to encounter Squirtle sporting sunglasses. Good luck!” Niantic confirmed.
As previously reported, Trainers will also have access to reduced egg hatching distances, as well as 3-hour Lures.
That’s on top of the chance to capture a rare shiny Squirtle.
Niantic is also running a second anniversary event starring Pikachu.
Fans can unlock the ‘summer style’ Pikachu, complete with a straw hat and sunglasses.
During the Pokemon Go Pikachu event Pichu and Pikachu will spawn more frequently.
Running until July 31, there’s even a rare Shiny version for Pokemon Go trainers to catch.
