Elvis Presley was found dead in the bathroom of his Graceland home aged just 42, on August 16, 1977.
While medical professionals credited the Hound Dog singer’s death to his relationship with prescription drugs, a series of sightings reported after the King’s passing led some to believe The King faked his own death in order to escape from the clutches of fame.
And a fresh video has now resurfaced to add further fuel to the conspiracy fire, after Priscilla’s 74th birthday yesterday.
The clip shows Priscilla giving Larry King a tour around one of the lounges in Graceland, for a CNN special in 2007.
“The reason he did this was because he loves football”
She points out how there were not one but three televisions.
“The reason he did this was because he loves football,” she adds.
While her statement seemed innocuous at first, conspiracists have become convinced the present tense use of the word “love” indicated that Priscilla believed Elvis was alive.
The clip was posted to YouTube back in 2013 with the caption: “Elvis Presley is alive – Priscilla slips up.”
It has since been viewed more than 84,000 times and many viewers agreed with the uploader.
“He is alive and well,” one user wrote.
Another commented: “That’s a dead giveaway, he’s alive.”
Others linked it to another supposed “slip up” of the business mogul.
Back in 2005, Priscilla appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show with daughter Lisa Marie.
She was infamously filmed saying: “That’s exactly what he said the other day.”
Like her CNN video, fans quickly jumped to the wild conclusion that she was implying Elvis faked his death.
Of course, it’s far more likely that Priscilla just had an innocent slip of the tongue with no meaning behind it.
There has, after all, been no conclusive evidence that the King of Rock and Roll is still alive today.
It comes as fresh claims surfaced that legendary rapper Tupac Shakur was still alive.
