Chelsea news: Gianfranco Zola sends huge manager demand to Blues | Football | Sport

That is the opinion of legendary Chelsea striker Gianfranco Zola.

Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge is in serious doubt after a turbulent season on and off the pitch.

The Blues’ title defence ended months ago and their only hopes of winning a trophy lie with the FA Cup.

Conte has repeatedly criticised the club in press conferences, with the Italian not happy with the transfer business completed since winning the league last season.

Many believe he will be on his way in the summer, whether that is through being sacked or on his own accord.

But Zola wants Antonio Conte to stay and has demanded the club patch up their differences.

Asked if he thinks Conte will leave, Zola told talkSPORT: “I really hope not, because I think he is an asset for the club,.

“He’s a good coach, without doubt – he’s actually one of the best around.

“At the moment there are certainly some problems.

“If the club and manager want to continue, and I think that will be good for the club, they should sort them (the problems) out because the competition out there is so incredible.

“There is no league in the world where you see teams get so much better every year – it’s so competitive off the pitch and on the pitch.”
