AN ALIEN spaceship crashed in South Africa this week, and NASA has covered it up as a natural event, according to wild claims online.

Video footage gained popularity online of Meteor ZLAF9B2 as it zipped across the sky between Ottosdal and Hartbeesfontein, South Africa.

It then smashed into the ground near a farm, but no object has been recovered.

Now conspiracists are convinced it was in fact a UFO  that had lost control while entering Earth’s atmosphere.

Tyler Glockner, who runs YouTube channel secureteam10, obtained another angle of the phenomenon, in which he speculates that it veers off at the last moment.

SHOCKING: Conspiracists have made a big claim

The skywatcher goes on to detail there is no way it could be a meteor as no pieces burn off the object.

He even claims that on impact, animals were sent fleeing out of the woods, following alien contact.

The clip was uploaded to his page, where it has already racked up 350,000 hits.

And viewers were astonished.

One suggested: “It looks like a cigar-shaped spacecraft plummeting.”

Another added: “It looks like it has its own force field.”

And a third claimed: “There is no way I am buying that is a meteor.”

The footage comes just days after we saw similar scenes in China.

Residents in Yunnansaw a bright white ball cut through the cloudy night sky, accompanied by a fierce orange tail of flame behind it.
