Horny has never been so good.

This time the devil is the hero is Disney’s revisionist take on Sleeping Beauty which was a huge hit in 2014.

A sequel has been rumoured and reported for over a year now, but no details had been released, until a sudden flurry of news this week.

Most exciting of all is the sight of Jolie herself, showing a surprisingly playful side on the Pinewood sets.

Jolie was revealed playing around on the set with her young co-star Elle Faning. The sister of Dakota Fanning returns as the sweet princess Aurora. Hopefully she’ll have a better British accent the second time around.

Jolie, of course, has the plummy vowels down pat after numerous roles, but it’s refreshing to see her lose the stiff upper lip in the new images of the pair larking around on the Pinewood back lot.

Those iconic Maleficent horns which spawned a million Halloween costumes are firmly back in place, but the drama has been put aside for a moment.

MALEFICENT 2 CAST: Jolie and Fanning are joined by Hollywood royalty Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith.

The film also stars Brits Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein and Robert Lindsay. Harris Dickinson replaces Brendon Thwaites as Prince Phillip but Sam Riley returns as man-crow Diaval. Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville are also back as the well-meaning but hopeless pixies.

RELEASE DATE: The movie has started filming but no release date has been announced yet.

MALEFICENT 2 OFFICIAL PLOT SYNOPSIS: “A fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora.

“Maleficent II continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”
