That’s the verdict of former Premier League ace Clinton Morrison, who says Jurgen Klopp deserves credit for the Egyptian’s performances this season.
Salah has been a revelation since joining Liverpool from Roma and scored his 44th goal of the campaign in the Reds’ final Premier League game against Brighton.
That record means he is just three goals short of matching Ian Rush’s record of 47 in a season and has seen him turn plenty of heads across Europe.
Real have been tipped to swoop for Salah after the Champions League final as they look to overhaul their squad which has underperformed domestically this year.
However, Morrison has predicted the 25-year-old winger will opt to stay put if Real firm up their interest in signing him.
“Nah, I can’t see it,” Morrison told Express Sport, when asked if he can envisage Salah going to Real.
“You just never know, because in football money talks. But I can’t see him going, I think [after] the job Klopp’s done with him.
“Salah’s done the majority of it himself but without his team-mates and without the players that he’s had around him and [Roberto] Firmino, who doesn’t get a lot of credit but he’s been outstanding, and [Sadio] Mane, I don’t think he’d have been able to score all of those goals.
“I think Klopp’s got the best out of him. Because when he came to the Premier League before, I know he didn’t play as much, but didn’t have that impact that he’s had this season.
“And if Liverpool go on and beat Real Madrid and win the Champions League then he’ll probably stay there. But I know what people are like, and as a footballer, you get that one opportunity to go to a massive club like Real Madrid, you do think twice about it.
“But me personally, I’d stay at Liverpool because I think what Klopp’s got going there is starting to become unbelievable. Maybe in another year’s time Real Madrid still want him and he’s had another terrific season then that might be the time to move on.”
In contrast to Morrison, Salah’s compatriot Hany Ramzy claimed earlier this month that Salah should join Real if the opportunity arises.
“I think he makes history for an Egyptian player and this is very important,” Ramzy said. “Also that all the world can see that Egypt has talent.
“And about the question if it is better for Salah to stay at Liverpool or transfer himself to another league, I think all the media are talking about Real Madrid or Barcelona.
“For me, Salah is ready to make this step. For him it’s time. It’s the right time to transfer or go to Real Madrid, especially I think Real Madrid as the way they play could be a very, very good transfer for Salah, because he makes everything this season with Liverpool.
“He was their best player, he was the top scorer and if he waits until next year maybe he has not [got] the chance [to move]. Maybe he loses his level, maybe he has an injury, we don’t hope so.
“But I think at the moment that Salah can go to Real Madrid or Barcelona maybe but I see him in Real Madrid, [being] more comfortable.”
