It won’t be long before fans start their new adventure in Fortnite Battle Royale.
With the current season ending this week, fans will soon get to move onto a whole a new battle pass and revamped map.
There’s still plenty of time to finish off any lingering challenges left over from Season 4, which is still running on all platforms.
A torrent of teasers has been released in-game this week, suggesting that the Season 5 theme will be based around historical time periods.
A countdown timer has been available in Fortnite Battle Royale over the past week.
This provides the information on when Season 4 ends and was recently updated to show that two extra days had been added to the official runtime.
This follows previous delays for Fortnite fans during past season crossovers.
The Fortnite season 2 end date, and Fortnite season 3 release date, ended up being delayed by one day.
So while Fortnite fans have a few extra days to complete their tiers, Season 4 will finish on Wednesday, July 11.
And the very next day is the Fortnite Season 5 start date.
That means players can get ready to explore a revamped map and collect new loot through the Battle Pass on Thursday, July 12.
And the good news is that Epic Games are planning to get things started early for nearly all players, regardless of where they live.
Season 5 will start at 9am BST, which is 4am eastern time and 1am Pacific time.
It expected that the season 5 battle pass will remain priced at around 950 V-Bucks, with the season 4 pass still available to anyone who wants to unlock its cosmetics.
While it may sound silly grabbing the battle pass so late in the season, it could still be a good option for those who have been playing a lot over the past six weeks.
Those who do will receive all of the rewards up to their current level, retroactively, Epic Games has confirmed.
New map changes continue to be made in-game, suggesting that Epic Games have a lot planned for the start of the new season.
Fans are expecting to see keymap landmarks switched out for new locations, which has already started to happen.
And on top of that, Epic Games have just revealed the first official teaser.
The mysterious Fortnite season 5 teaser doesn’t give much away with what appears to be a cat-like mask with cracks appearing above it.
The cracks are the same as the ones that have been appearing in the skyline in Fortnite Battle Royale ever since the rocket launch the other weekend.
The Fortnite season 5 teaser image was posted alongside the message: “3 days until Season 5…”
With the run-up to Fortnite season 4, Epic Games revealed on Twitter a new teaser daily in the week leading up to its launch.
These teaser images showed different superhero skins coming in the upcoming Fortnite Battle Pass.
And it’s possible the mysterious Fortnite season 5 image posted today could be the first of a few teasers being published daily ahead of the big launch.
